The local Sheffield newspaper 'the Star' wrote about our dragon and lion parade in Sheffield city centre! For more detail click on the link below. http://www.thestar.co.uk/news/dancing-lions-help-to-mark-the-chinese-new-year-in-sheffield-1-6414975 Our students travelled to Birmingham for the UKFCS Cultural Performance on the 2nd March 2013. We entered the competition in three different categories: Martial Arts, Music and Dance. We did lion dance for martial arts, guzheng for music and a Chinese folk dance in the dance catrgory. After lots of preparation, rehearsals and hard work from all students and teachers, they gave a wonderful performance. The students came 1st in all three categories and won the winner's trophies. Furthermore, Sheffield Chinese School won the overall champion trophy! Well done to everyone who participated! Chinese New Year is just around the corner! The Sheffield Chinese School and Sheffield Chinese Association have arranged a series of events to celebrate the Year of the Snake.

On Saturday 18th February 2012, our students took part in the cultural performance competition organised by the UKFCS. The dragon/lion dance team opened the show by performing the dragon dance and later on entered the 'Martial Arts' category by doing lion dance. The group of folk dancers entered the 'Dance' category with the Tibetan dance (珠穆朗瑪). And finally one of our students performed a song called 'Red Blossom' on the guzheng in the 'Music' category. All 3 acts from the Sheffield Chinese School (lion dance, Tibetan dance & guzheng performance) came in 1st place within their categories. Once again, like last year we were crowned the overall champions over the other Chinese schools that entered the competition. Congratulations and well done to all the boys and girls involved!
